Bill H. McAnalley was born in San Angelo, Texas, in 1944. He started his academic studies at Angelo State University and culminated his studies with a PhD in Toxicology and Pharmacology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. While completing his studies at UT Southwestern, Dr. McAnalley had the opportunity to analyze Aloe vera and attempt to decipher the active ingredient. This set into motion the greatest endeavor for Dr. McAnalley, determining which aloe component was responsible for the great range of therapeutic effects. The culmination of his research resulted in the discovery of acemannan, an acetylated, beta-linked polymannan.

Anyone interested in the facts and science of Aloe Vera by a credible author whose intent is delivering the science, not marketing a brand name product, will find this a must read.
